Subject Specific Fellowships and Awards

The Rose Library offers 7 subject-specific short-term fellowships awarded by donors to support scholarly use of the Library's research collections.

The Rose Library short-term research fellowships have a value of $250-$1,250 and are meant to help defray expenses in traveling to and residing in Atlanta for the duration of the fellowship.

The length of the fellowship will depend on the applicant's research proposal, but a minimum of 5 business days is required.

Fellowship applications are required to submit a research plan and are evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. the qualifications of the candidate;
  2. a clearly articulated research topic; and
  3. a demonstrated understanding of the research materials available in the Rose Library to support their work.

Equal weight is given to each of these three aspects in determining the final priority rating.

All fellowships must be completed within 1 year of the award date.

All fellows are required to write a blog post after their fellowship is complete for public posting on our website.

The application and guidelines will be announced soon. The application deadline is Friday, February 14, 2020 and award letters are mailed and emailed in April 2020.
