What can my students bring to the class session?

Students will be given clipboards with green paper and a pencil and are welcome to bring in their mobile phones at the discretion of the instructor. No food or drink is allowed in the classroom and students will be asked to place their belongings in the Backpack Storage Room adjacent to the classroom.

Can I schedule my instruction session for a time that I am at a conference?

No, we require that the instructor be present during the Rose Library instruction session. We have found that students respond better when the instructor is present and can connect the visit to broader course themes and topics.

Can I ask the Registrar to schedule my class in Rose Library?

The Rose Library’s classroom space known as the Teaching & Learning Studio can only be reserved by Ros Library staff for classes actively using materials from the Rose Library’s collections. Due to the high demand for use of the space, we cannot accept request for use of the space for classes not actively using Rose Library materials.

To schedule a class session to teach with Rose Library materials, please complete the Instruction Request Form.

Who will teach my class session?

The Rose Library’s instruction team comprises of full-time archivists and graduate instruction assistants. The instructor assigned to your class will depend on staff availability and subject expertise.
